walked by the 12th annual Black & White Opera Soirée at the National Arts Centre yesterday after we realized Milk was sold out. we saw the desserts being prepared and they looked good. Citizen says 720 guests dined on oven-roasted rack of lamb with mint crust and fresh mint sauce and a dessert of frozen chocolate-chestnut soufflé with berry compote.

then we stopped on the bridge to see part of the lightshow. it was hilarious. i couldn't quite figure out the theme- it seemed to be based on "things that move in the wintertime". zambonis, ice scrapers, snow shovels, etc.

now i am waiting for the oscars to start....
